Due to our continuing growth we have a fantastic opportunity for a technical sales professional to join our expanding internal sales team within the Building sector. We are seeking confident, resilient and highly motivated technical sales candidates with experience of successful technical product sales combined with superb commercial and customer relationship skills.

Based at our head office in Meltham (with the possibility of homeworking following training) and reporting to the Sales Manager, you will accurately and efficiently sell ABG products and services by prospecting and proactively initiating successful new sales opportunities within our UK markets. With experience of proactive customer relationship management, you will uphold our reputation for excellent customer service by providing a full sales and support service including quotations, negotiating pricing, offering alternative solutions and responding to technical and logistical enquiries. Working as a team and supporting our area sales managers you will regularly follow up quotes and sales leads whilst also identifying opportunities for ABG’s products and services.

The successful candidate will relish the responsibility for business development and problem solving and be competent in understanding and communicating on technical issues.

Educated to at least degree standard and with excellent organisational skills you will achieve personal sales targets and support the achievement of departmental sales and service targets. At interview candidates will be required to show excellent attitude and aptitude and demonstrate proactivity and responsibility. Knowledge of building / construction is essential. Experience of the roofing market and the specification / tender / contract sales route would be beneficial. This new position is based at our HQ in Meltham within our growing Buildings Team and involves the day to day liaison with our installation contractors to project manage and coordinate the successful delivery of our green roof and blue roof schemes. Excellent organisational abilities and communication skills are necessary to ensure that project documentation, materials and delivery activities are scheduled and completed as required by the main contractors and relevant sub-contractors, whilst dealing with variations and monthly payment applications.

At ABG we work collaboratively and supportively with our clients and handle enquiries from conception to completion. You’ll need to be intelligent, articulate, numerate and fantastic at building relationships so that you can uphold the excellent customer service reputation we have built. As an excellent communicator you will relish the responsibility for problem solving and be competent in understanding and communicating technical, civil engineering, construction and commercial issues with our clients.
