Landfill

Landfill operators have a duty of care to design, construct, operate and decommission their sites in such a way as to protect the surrounding environment from the potential hazards associated with landfill management.

Key to the success of this is controlling the landfill gases and leachate generated within the waste itself. Equally important is the need to manage rainwater infiltration into completed cells and also to protect the local groundwater.

Over the past four decades ABG have been at the forefront of providing value engineered geosynthetic solutions for capping drainage and erosion control, slope veneer stabilisation, gas collection, leachate drainage, leakage detection and groundwater management in the landfill sector worldwide.

Research & Development
As part of our commitment to driving forward the standards for landfill engineering, ABG are actively involved with the regulatory bodies helping to shape future policy.

We have the ability to rapidly develop and test new products, which ensures that we can supply the most innovative and cost effective solution to any waste management engineering problem.

In house research and development is a continual process, and multiple collaborative research projects have been undertaken with various UK universities to develop improved design methods for landfill construction.

Independent UKAS accredited laboratory facilities are used for quality control testing and product development, and also to provide clients with specific design values. Regular CQA conformance testing by established and recognised laboratories, such as BTTG and NPC, confirms our products meet the high performance standards we expect.

Technical support is provided for all of our products by our well trained and experienced staff. This extends to design, design confirmation, feasibility study, cost advice and installation.
