G-Mat

BIODEGRADABLE SEEDED MAT

G-Mat is a natural fibre biodegradable mat incorporating grass or wildflower seeds. It is a non-woven mat of sisal and other fibres that gives 100% surface cover. G-Mat is designed to immediately establish a stable surface to newly prepared soil slopes and banks above the water level.

Left exposed, soil is at risk of erosion from wind, rain or water and the result is instability and highly polluting, silt laden run-off.

At times like this nature needs a helping hand. G-Mat is the instant answer. Firstly, it covers, insulates and protects the surface. Secondly, the impregnated seed mix germinates and creates a green environment to permanently stabilise the soil. Thirdly, the G-Mat biodegrades slowly to form nutrients for sustained plant growth.

Erosalog & Erosaplat

There are several standard seed mixes available to suit various installation conditions, e.g. salt resisting, low maintenance, low fertility, DTp, as well as several wild flower mixes. G-mat is also available by request with water absorbing gel and PKN fertiliser. The seeds are securely embedded into the mat and cannot be displaced during transportation or handling.

The exact composition of G-mat has been proven to give the optimum mass for soil protection and seed germination. G-mat tends to trap moisture between the underside and the soil to encourage seed germination.
