Rotaflex is an asphalt reinforcing system comprising of a PVC coated glass fibre grid within a polyester geotextile. Rotaflex is a key component of sustainable road maintenance and construction.

It is designed to provide reflective crack control, pavement reinforcement and to prevent premature road break up due to increasing axle loads.

Onsite experience since 1987 and extensive research by major road laboratories in Europe have demonstrated the benefits of Rotaflex to eliminate or retard reflective cracking, reduce rutting and extend fatigue life of a pavement. A 10 times increase in service life against fatigue due to high traffic loads can be obtained (alternatively a saving of up to 30% of pavement thickness can be made). Rotaflex works by preventing strains within

Applications

Reflective crack control and reinforcement of overlays to Highways, Airfields, Car Parks, Footways, etc. on cracked surfaces, lean mix bases, setts, concrete slabs, pitchings, clay and peat, to avoid full reconstruction and reduce deflection. Reduction in overlay thickness to avoid threshold problems. Reinforcement of new construction to enable increased life/reduced thickness. Reduction of rutting in black top pavements subject to high wheel loading and channelled trafficking. Haunching. To tie-in widened carriageways. Strengthening around manholes.

asphalt layers reaching a critical levels. Laid within an asphalt/bitmac pavement Rotaflex provides the three essentials: reinforcement, sealing and good interlayer bond. Rotaflex is the cost effective solution to pavement strengthening.

Rotaflex is compatible with all hot applied surfacing materials including thin asphaltic concrete.
